IT'S EASY FOR PEOPLE TO SAY THAT SEX WORKERS ARE...

—fill in the blank with whatever stereotype you want here. This includes so-called open-minded individuals, even they can lump us together with cutting evaluation: she's a hooker and therefore has no real feelings for people. I'm assuming this is an emotional mechanism designed to preserve their own feelings, but in reality it’s short-sighted and only ends up distancing themselves from the ones they are accusing of "having no feelings", whom are mostly genuine individuals and likely the furthest thing from this antiquated typecast. Conceivably, if I'm in an industry which requires me to be intimate with several people at the same time, and give affection to hundreds a week at the club, it means that not only am I not unfeeling, but perhaps I have an over abundance of love and energy to give. Maybe that's an even more frightening thought for the person making the blanket statement. Fear and judgment take an ugly form. People throw shit. And shit hurts.
